FREEDOM WILL BE OUR LEGACY

I want to be a part of a generation who learned from the mistakes of their parents and were bold enough to make their own.

I want to be a part of a generation that no longer needs to shove  each other into neatly labelled boxes but loves one another with a scandalous, messy, gospel-inspired, undaunted, fearless, passionate, daring and inclusive love.

I want to be a part of a generation that uses their voices to speak for those who have been silenced.

I want to be a part of a generation that understands the importance of being the Church and not just the importance of going to church.

I want to be a part of a generation that sees life for it’s poetic exquisiteness rather than it’s sometimes-overwhelming ugliness.

I want to be a part of a generation that is outraged by injustice not apathetic in self-indulgence.

I want to be a part of a generation that does not run to different camps and fights for WHO is right but rather runs to one another and fights for WHAT is right.

I want to be a part of a generation that values freedom more than consumerism.

I want to be a part of a generation that runs after The Creator rather than the creation.

I want to be a part of a generation that sees one another as human beings made in God’s image rather than commodities to be used, abused and recycled.

I want to be a part of a generation that chooses to dream God-sized dreams despite having the odds against them.

I want to be a part of a generation where love always gives and love is always victorious.

I want to be a part of a generation that sacrifices for others not hoards for self.

You and I have the opportunity to be this generation; it will cost us, exhaust us and, at times, discourage us.

But one thing that I know is that we are called to be a misfit generation that is no longer defined by generations past and freedom can and WILL be our legacy.

I am wholeheartedly devoted to being this generation, would you join me?
